I am currently working to complete a bachelor's degree in Mathematics at Roosevelt University with a minor in Computer Science. Aside from tutoring math, I like to spend my time outside of school writing and recording music. I play guitar, sing, and occasionally make my own beats. If I'm not making music, maybe you'll find me eating tacos or pasta. When it comes to tutoring, I feel comfortable working with both higher and lower levels of math. Whether it's calculus or elementary number facts, I can break things down to make them easy for students of any level to understand. I like to focus on both current needs and classroom expectations for each student. Often times math becomes difficult for a student because of his or her 'gaps' in previous levels of math. I usually see the fastest improvements with my students when targeting these weaker areas.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I prefer a combination of patience and encouragement—working with what a student already knows and extending that knowledge to new concepts. I like to build a student's confidence so that they develop a good attitude toward math.
