I've worked in schools and education nonprofits in DC and abroad. I have experience working in afterschool programs as a tutor in DC public schools with K-5 students, teaching and tutoring ESL to adult learners in DC, tutoring and co-teaching a 3rd grade classroom in Nicaragua, and teaching a 2nd grade class in Liberia.

I'm comfortable not only with tutoring, but also as a teacher, using a curriculum (including Common Core standards) to craft an individualized learning plan for a student and finding a variety of resources and lesson plan strategies that fit their learning styles to help them succeed. Given my experience, I'm also very comfortable working with students who are behind or overage for their grade, have reading related learning disabilities, or are ESL learners.
