Certified Tutor

I am currently an Economics (BS) student at the University of Kansas and member of the University Honors Program. I grew up in Topeka, KS and went to high school at Washburn Rural High School (which, despite its name, is a large, 6A suburban school) where I took mainly AP and honors classes. I have a passion for learning that I hope to pass onto you. My core teaching philosophy revolves around the fact that all students learn differently and have different interests and it is my job to find ways to engage my students in a way that they are willing and able to learn. While I certainly am not perfect, I will work as hard as my students do to ensure that they have a successful learning experience. Ultimately, it is my goal to not only teach students the material, but teach them a process for thinking and problem solving that will help them in all disciplines in school and life. I enjoy teaching all subjects, but I particularly enjoy test prep and math because I think those are the subjects where I can see students learning not only concepts, but also problem solving strategies.
