I've always been interested in languages for as long as I remember, likely because of my multicultural background. I was born in Brazil and spent my formative years there, where I learned to speak Portuguese natively. I was raised in a bilingual household where we spoke English and Portuguese all the time. Then at age nine, my family and I relocated to the United States, where we've been ever since. During this time, we lived off the continental US - specifically, Puerto Rico - where I learned to speak Spanish.

My love of languages propelled me to receive my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and French from the University of Central Florida. While there, I was a Dean's List honoree and graduated with honors as a Magna cum Laude. After graduating, I went on to interpret from English-Portuguese and vice-versa for those in need, and to continue tutoring students taking college level Spanish. I absolutely love the Spanish language - all of the verb conjugations and small linguistic tidbits give me a rush! - so helping students navigate through the grammar is one of my absolute favorite things. As a nationally certified tutor by the College Reading & Learning Association, I am confident that I'll help you tackle the tricky aspects of language learning.

In my spare time, I like to research endangered languages and how to help communities preserve them, pitching in to language revitalization efforts whenever possible. I also enjoy reading (Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors), the arts (illustration, painting, photography, you name it), music, yoga, and the occasional video game.
