Certified Tutor

I am currently a 6th grade Reading/Writing teacher at a charter school in Nashville. My students are recent immigrants who speak a variety of languages, and as a language lover myself, I enjoy the opportunity to work with students from so many different backgrounds and learn about their cultures. Aside from teaching, I have had experience as a substitute teacher for all grade/subjects, and as tutor in Peru and Italy. As a language instructor, I'm not afraid to dig deep into grammar (I'm a big believer in practicing conjugation charts!), but I think there's so much more to studying a language than memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules. I'm a big proponent of interactive activities, and I would encourage students to practice their language skills by listening to music, watching TV/movies, etc. I also believe it's extremely important to learn about the culture of the language. Though I tutor several subjects, I am most passionate about Reading, ESL, Spanish, and Italian.

I graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2015 with a B.A. in Hispanic Studies and a minor in Italian Studies. While there, I also competed for W&M's club sailing team, danced with a hip-hop group, and volunteered at the Admissions Office. In my free time, you can find me reading, working out, or exploring Nashville with my dog.
