I have been tutoring students of all ages since my junior year of high school, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to do so. I feel comfortable tutoring an array of subjects, particularly the various levels of psychology, English, German, and writing, but algebra and statistics have wormed their way into my heart over the years!

My particular style of tutoring is unique, most likely to due to my sense of humor. Even someone's least favorite subject does not have to be a bore, and I quite enjoy taking some of the pressure off by being lighthearted and enthusiastic. As long as the student feels comfortable with the progress he or she is making, that's all that matters. I will never define what is successful for my students, I always adhere to how they define their own success. As far as I'm concerned, we're a team, and I'm happy to do what it takes to help them meet their goals.

As a graduate of Sewickley Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio, I currently possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. I am currently attending Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore in pursuit of a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Psychology, where I am conducting original research in the areas of parental psychological control and somatic symptoms in young adults. Needless to say, this means there is quite a lot of psychology in my life, so while I am happy to assist others with their psychology classes, tutoring gives me a chance to take a break from it all and indulge myself in the other subjects I love!

Outside of what must sound like an incredibly academic life, I do find time to entertain myself. I love going to museums and am definitely interested in some recommendations for the must-see museums in Baltimore. I'm a huge theatre lover, and I sometimes dabble in acting when I have time. I absolutely love doing voices and accents when I tell stories. If laser-pointering with my cat were an Olympic sport, I would certainly qualify. I'm an admirer of film and television as art forms, which is a fancy way of saying I like great movies and TV shows. Eating something delicious while reading a good book is my preferred method of relaxation, although it makes me wish I had more than two hands and two eyes. That's me in a nutshell!
