Since his biology class is just watching a movie, we went over his math homework, covering factoring complex equations. Even though there were some concepts to iron out, by the end of the session, he had a very good understanding of the discussed material. As always, this was a productive session and I look forward to working with him again soon.

The student and I began with getting to know each other. We reviewed his math test he had taken last week and a worksheet on 1 step equations. I have been in contact with his math teacher, and we are going to work together to help him improve. I also had him complete a short reading and answer comprehension questions.

Today's session was a test prep for the student's next test. We went over the material provided by her teacher as a review. We even completed the sections that her teacher didn't finish or get to. I discussed the differences between virus, bacteria and eukaryotes in terms of structure and life cycles. We also went over a few handouts that I prepared for her that also emphasized these differences as well. I ended by quizzing her and explained how she should be ready for this exam.

Concepts covered with the student were accounting transactions, journal entries, preparation of balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and calculation of common size financial statements. The student continues to show a good attitude and is doing well with concepts discussed.

The student and I covered a wide variety of topics to prepare for test over 3 chapters. He made great progress today. We practiced a lot of mental math and reviewed at length the majority of concepts on the test, and talked abstractly about the concepts he was more comfortable with. We also practiced test taking knowledge and math learning practice, as well as life long problem solving skills.
