LSAT Tutoring review by Jesse in Portsmouth
The student and I worked on grouping games. She misunderstood an aspect of conditional rules and was affirming the inverse. I explained the difference between a block and a conditional rule in terms of grouping games and we saw 4 types of exclusive relationships in action in games today. She is going to do some more grouping practice and some reading comprehension to review Wednesday.

The student and I tackled Logic Games today, focusing on games with a sequencing component, since these are the most common ones on the LSAT. He was worried about setting games up - he felt like he did not or could not understand the specific equations involved. We talked about experience he already had with understanding, following, and applying rules, and then I showed him that was the only skill he needed for LG. We worked through one game set-up and six questions together, then a second game set-up with less help from me, then he did a game set-up with minimal help from me. He was very quick to grasp and apply techniques. He was very enthusiastic and dedicated. His worry was gone by the end of the session.

LSAT Tutoring review by Dan in Portsmouth
The session returned to reading comprehension, with a "hero" story and then a science-based advocacy piece. Emphasis was placed on skillful roadmapping of passages and strategizing the order in which to answer questions. More exotic logic games were covered, too. Finally, some LR questions were covered.

LSAT Tutoring review by William in Portsmouth
Today we discussed a number of issues, and practiced questions from all three sections of the LSAT. These practice questions were extremely gratifying, as the student showed clear improvement in all three areas. One issue we noted was that it was vital to read each question carefully, and within logic games, to ensure that one's diagram was accurate. Once we got over some hiccups with diagram accuracy, she was a whiz on the linear games. For our next meeting, the student will continue to use the logic games bible, and take one final untimed practice LSAT. In later meetings, we are going to address timing, as she has stated that the tests are taking her a good deal of time.
