GMAT Tutoring review by Jonathan in Reading
The student and I spent a good portion of our session today reviewing questions from his homework. He did well, but I could tell he was hesitant to apply some of the strategies. I assigned PS IIs this time, asking him to concentrate on applying the strategies. We also reviewed the concept of interest and how to calculate it by hand. We then turned to reading comp, reviewing his homework and completing one additional passage. I assigned 368, 370, and 372 for homework. Next session, we will wrap reading comp and move on to algebra equations.

GMAT Tutoring review by Carl in Reading
Today was my first meeting with the student. She doesn't have a lot of experience with the test, so we started by discussing materials and general issues about the test. Then, we moved into a discussion of the different question types, and then on to some questions she'd done in the Official Guide, finally ending up with a list of topics she'll want to have memorized to shortcut her math approaches. She's going to spend the weekend getting her materials in order and taking a practice test before we meet next week.

GMAT Tutoring review by Alex in Reading
We spent a good amount of time on 'catch up' problems, and then looked at some number properties, probability and weighted average. For verbal, I was certainly impressed by her deliberation on deciding on certain answers. The student never took too long, and she was quick to notice awkward structures and grammatical mistakes. Good luck!!!!

We started off with some strategy related to keeping timing on track, and then moved into a quiz testing the arithmetic skills we studied last time, and then finally covered sentence completion strategy and the beginnings of grammar. The student will be practicing the arithmetic skills and starting some self-study with grammar before we meet again.

We talked about the student's goals for the GMAT and her study history. We're going to spend sessions reviewing concepts and talking through problems. She should take a practice test this weekend to get a sense of where she currently is. Next week we'll dig a bit deeper into some content areas, guided by her results on the test.
