Hello! I recently graduated from Binghamton University and received my Bachelor's Degree in the major Politics, Philosophy, and Law. Additionally, I have accepted admission to law school next fall. Despite this, I have always had a love for teaching so I have taken this time to pursue one of my passions. I have prior experience teaching one on one at the elementary school level. This experience has allowed me to navigate online teaching. My main focus as a tutor is to keep the student engaged and focused using our online platform. I really enjoy working with students of all ages. My philosophy is that we need to encourage children to step out of their comfort zone and gain confidence in themselves. Whether it be in or outside of the classroom! The subjects I enjoy teaching the most are English, Writing, Math, and History! I specialize in college application essays and personal statements (with past students accepted into Stanford, Harvard, the University of Texas, Northwestern University, and many others), standardized test preparation, and all types of writing and English development. I am a fourth-year middle and high school math teacher at a private, residential school for at-risk teens. I love giving my students the opportunity to learn and grow their math confidence. I utilize multiple teaching methods to reach student with different learning levels and styles. I believe everyone is capable of doing anything with the right tools and knowledge set. I knew from a young age I wanted to be a teacher and be able to help others reach their educational goals. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology and immediately started working with at-risk adolescents. A few years later, I received my Masters in Teaching degree while teaching full-time. In the past two years, I have worked as a photographer and reporter for The Baytown Sun newspaper, public relations committee member for Keep Baytown Beautiful, volunteer at the Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Center and freelance photographer, travel planner and home organizer. I believe you can stay busy and productive every day if you're organized and happy doing it. I am currently working on my Master's in English through the University of New Orleans. Over the last severeal years, I have been highly invovled in the feild of education. I have experience teaching from early childhood up to middle school. I served in roles such as a classroom teacher, subsistute teacher, assisstant VPK teacher, and tutor. I enjoy working with the younger students and helping them build the foundations they will need to succeed in the future. However, I also enjoy working with the older students and taking the foundational skills they already have and building them up. I believe the education and knowledge is a right we all share and that it is an honor to help others further their education.

Susan has an undergraduate degree in English and a Master's degree in journalism and worked in book, magazine, and newspaper publishing as a writer and editor before becoming a college English instructor. She now specializes in teaching students to write composition, read and interpret literature, think critically, prepare for public speaking engagements, and conduct research in the social sciences. She also teaches English as a second language to both young and adult learners. Susan is a patient and highly attentive teacher who takes a personalized approach to individual learning and meets students at their own level.

I graduated with Honors from Spring Hill College with a Bachelors of Science. I studied Psychology, English, and Gender Studies. I will be completing a dual masters degree in Social Work and Theology and Ministry from Boston College. While in high school, I served as a peer tutor for a wide range of subjects. In undergrad, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for an Abnormal Psychology class, as well serving as an ESL teacher for resettled refugees and immigrants living in Alabama. I spent three summers working as a camp counselor, giving me experience working with children in a wide range of ages. In an academic setting, I love to be challenged because I find it encourages me to expand my thinking in new ways. As a tutor, I try to encourage a dedication to problem solving. I believe that nothing is unsolvable- some problems just need outside the box creativity to conquer. Nothing makes me happier than the oxford comma.

My passion is connecting with students so they can achieve greatness. My outgoing personality in class gets students talking and having fun, and I am highly responsive to personalities and learning styles. Need me to draw it out? Sure! Explain it 10 different ways? No problem! I'm high energy, while ensuring our classroom is comfortable and easygoing. While I teach many subjects from English to math to writing, my favorites are writing and math. I love math because it's not really work - just solving puzzles! And writing is a way to be creative while learning. You just can't beat that.
