I recently graduated from Norfolk State University in 2013 with a Bachelors in Computer Science. I've always been interested in and have had a knack for computers since I was young. Throughout my undergraduate career, I've had the chance to tutor and mentor lower level college students in the areas of College Algebra and Computer Programming. I love the feeling you get when you're able to develop students and teach them to solve problems that they otherwise couldn't understand. I believe building a relationship with students will make them more comfortable with you and better receptive to your teaching method. In my free time, I love to play video games, workout, play sports and try new activities. I'm able to build strong bonds with students using any of those activities, or any activity that the student may like as well. I have had a lot of success with this method and would love the chance to assist anyone who needs it!

I am a graduate of San Francisco State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Computer Science in 1981. Since graduation, I have worked as a professional programmer and project manager in Silicon Valley. Among the companies I have worked for are Intuit, where I was a project manager for Quicken, and Aclara BioSciences where I was a biotech programmer and manager. In 2006 I transitioned to teaching and have taught Computer Science and Philosophy at the high school and middle school levels. I am currently a Computer Science teacher at The Nueva School in Hillsborough, CA. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Computer Science and English. My students have gone on to MIT, Stanford, and UC. I am a firm proponent of the "growth mindset", believing that focused effort can lead to mastery of any subject, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, baseball, basketball, backpacking, and fly-fishing.

I'm a 25 year old Computer Information Systems student at the University of Houston. I have a passion for learning, and I think it's one of the traits that makes us human. I enjoy biking, programming, reading, video games, and doing what I can to make the world a better place. I've been told that I'm pretty intelligent by most people I know, and I always do my best to be a patient teacher/mentor in all situations. I wasn't always the fastest learner and know what it's like to not understand something. Sometimes we need a little push in the right direction, which is why I'm here.I'm thoroughly excited to have the opportunity to work with people who have a true desire to better themselves. Let's learn.

I am a graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on mathematics. Since graduation I have worked a mixture of engineering and software jobs, my most recent experience was teaching doctors and physicians the innerworkings of medical software and helping them develop more efficient workflows. I realized I thoroughly enjoyed the teaching process and have decided to continue that passion here to help students prepare for their science and math exams and for the notoriously daunting SAT/ACT exams. I scored extremely well on both standardized tests and I believe with the proper preparation, dedication, and exposure to the right resources, I can help any student see significant improvement in their scores!
