As a Stanford graduate, I have experienced firsthand the opportunities that come with a world-class education. As a psychology major, I have spent years learning about the psychological and social barriers to learning and how these barriers can be overcome. As a tutor, I hope to apply the lessons I've learned and share the knowledge I have gained throughout the course of my education.In terms of my experience tutoring, I began tutoring community college students in math and science when I was in high school. At Stanford I continued my work as a private tutor, focusing in particular on high school math and science. Dr. Emily Fox DNP, APRN, NNP-BC, is a Board-Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with a passion for evidence-based practice, education, professional development, and creating positive change. Dr. Fox earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005 from The University of New Mexico, her Master of Science in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification in 2009 from Arizona State University, a Post-Master's Certificate in Conflict Management, Negotiation & Mediation in 2019 from The University of Alabama, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2020 from The University of Alabama.Dr. Fox has worked in the clinical arena as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, since 2009, in both Neonatal Intensive Care Units and on both ground and air transport. She also previously served as an adjunct faculty and clinical instructor for the West Virginia University School of Medicine. Dr. Fox has conducted research as a primary investigator and participated as a co-investigator in multiple clinical trials. Currently, Dr. Fox practices in a private practice covering 11 Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the DFW area and serves as an Assistant Professor for the graduate nursing programs at the University of Texas at Arlington.

I am a recent graduate in the area of Game Design and Development, and wish to use my skills in Narrative Design to help inspire young writers. My specialty is writing, specifically creative writing. I am comfortable with tutoring grammar and reading comprehension as well. Students who are looking to improve writing and develop creativity in writing would be a great match with me.

While there I tutored philosophy, political science, and religious studies students for two years. I am currently working on a Master of Arts in Philosophy at Georgia State University, where I serve as a teaching assistant and writing consultant. I currently tutor in the areas of test preparation, government, philosophy, and religious studies. My passion for education stems from the joy I find in helping students achieve their goals. My teaching style involves asking lots of strategic questions to help students discover answers for themselves, a process which my students typically find quite empowering. I have learned that one of thebest methods to assess learning outcome (LO) is to first understand and identify theneeds of my students and focus on their strengths to motivate them. Students andtrainees (at all levels) have one common goal i.e., success in what they set out to do.Two basic questions that guide my teaching pedagogy are, how relevant is theknowledge of today for the graduates of tomorrow? And what do I need to do to workwith my students/mentees to create a trusting relationship?I look forward to working with my students to strengthen their confidence in publicspeaking, understanding marketing concepts and human resources practices, andinternational business.
