The student and I reviewed his Spanish vocabulary extensively for his dictation tomorrow. Later we went over study strategies for long-term fact retention and skills development. Later we spent some time in his history to complete a questionnaire. This week we will focus on English and Biology.

We corrected the semester final, which included reviewed graphing quadratic functions, using exponential functions and rules of exponents.

We covered logarithms and reviewed exponential functions. The student's understanding was fairly solid, but we filled in some gaps in terms of practical ways to solve logarithmic equations.

We worked on interior angles of a rectangle, triangle min/max 3rd side, and area/perimeter of quadrilaterals and circles. I think the student is pretty confident about the work now.

The student required assistance with her homework assignment on radicals. We will begin reviewing for her Final exam during our next session.

The student's homework assignments were one page of spelling, memory verse and to read for 20 minutes. He first completed his spelling page that covered the concepts of using the dictionary and building words, and he did so with 100% accuracy. He worked on his memory verse for about 5 minutes. He read it orally 3 times and then was able to recite it with only 2 mistakes. Finally he read for 20 minutes out of his book. After he read, we discussed 5 vocabulary words as to their meaning, and events in the story. I gave him a practice spelling test and he spelled all words with 100% accuracy. We have been working on increasing his vocabulary by using more descriptive adjectives in his writing. We ended the session by organizing his school folder.
