Richard

Certified Tutor

I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Texas at Austin with a strong background in robotics, mechatronics, and digital fabrication. Over the past few years, I've designed and built automated systems, wearable haptic devices, and robotic prototypes, giving me hands-on experience with everything from Arduino programming to CAD modeling and system integration.

Beyond engineering, I'm passionate about helping others learn. As a Robotics Teaching Assistant and Project Coordinator, I created and led a month-long course introducing over 30 new engineering students to the fundamentals of robotics and programming. I designed hands-on challenges to make learning approachable, engaging, and fun, focusing on problem-solving rather than memorization.

My tutoring approach emphasizes clarity, patience, and real-world application. Whether I'm explaining a physics equation, breaking down a programming concept, or walking through a design problem, I focus on helping students understand why things work, not just how.

If you're looking for a tutor who can make STEM subjects practical, exciting, and understandable, I'd be glad to help you reach your goals.
