I am a graduate from the SUNY University of Buffalo; my doctorate degree being in physics. Throughout my schooling, as both an undergrad and graduate student, I would tutor physics, algebra, and calculus in my spare time. Math is fun on its own, but it becomes more fun when it can be used as a tool to examine a real-world scenario like what physics has to offer. I love it when I get to assist a student in seeing for themselves something that once puzzled them, as something they can grasp and utilize. I believe that everyone is an individual with their own unique way of learning new information, so I seek to find more than one way to explain things. I personally see many of our best descriptions of physics as metaphors. I like to explore explanations of tricky subjects using similes and metaphors that may resonate well with the individual I am tutoring, while making sure that a student does not have to guess how a solution came to be, but understands logically; step-by-step. Of course I love physics, but outside of academia I enjoy puzzles like Sudoku and "twisty" puzzles like Rubik's cubes. I also enjoy riding my electric unicycle and relaxing with a video game.
