As a dedicated educator with a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi. I have over 10 years of experience in tutoring and 22 years of classroom teaching experience. I have tutored students successfully in College entrance tests, assisted in writing college entrance essays, and Texas state exams. I have also tutored students for medical school entrance exams (verbal section), and in drafting effective essays for medical school entrance. I hold Texas Teaching Certifications in English Language Arts and Reading (8-12), Social Studies Composite (8-12), and English as a Second Language Supplemental. I have received training for the Advanced Placement English Language and the International Baccalaureate Diploma in English. I have also attended training for the SAT from the College Board and Princeton (old SAT). Therefore, I specialize in the curricula for International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) for English Literature and English Language and Literature, the Advanced Placement (AP) Program English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Human Geography, and ESL/ELL.
My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that every student can thrive in a supportive environment that values communication, compassion, and high standards. I implement a differentiated curriculum to meet the diverse learning needs of students, fostering both academic success and personal growth. My passion for education is fueled by my own experiences as a student and the challenges I overcame, which inspire me to motivate my students, especially those facing difficulties. I integrate my extensive travel experiences into lessons, making learning relatable and engaging. Committed to continuous improvement, I strive to innovate my teaching methodologies to enhance student outcomes and foster a love for learning.
