Certified Tutor

I earned my bachelor's degree in English and I am currently working on my Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling. I have spent over thirteen years teaching English Language Arts at both the middle and high school levels. Throughout my career, I have worked with students from diverse academic backgrounds, helping them strengthen their reading comprehension, writing skills, and critical thinking abilities. My experience extends beyond the classroom into personalized supportworking with students individually to identify their strengths, address areas of need, and guide them toward their academic goals.

I tutor in English Language Arts, with a focus on reading, writing, and literature analysis. My favorite subject to tutor is reading comprehension because it opens the door to all other learning; watching a student gain confidence in understanding and interpreting text is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

My tutoring style is patient, adaptable, and student-centered. I believe in meeting students where they are, then building a plan that aligns with their learning style and pace. I combine clear instruction with encouragement and real-world connections, so students not only master skills but also see the value in what they're learning.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading inspirational books, taking peaceful nature walks, watching movies, and spending time with my family. These interests keep me balanced and bring fresh perspective and creativity to my teaching.
