As a retired school counselor with a Master's in School Counseling from Campbell University and a Bachelor's in Social Work, I have devoted over 24 years to guiding students from kindergarten through 12th grade. My passion for education fuels my commitment to helping students navigate their academic journeys, particularly in College Application Essays, Executive Functioning, and Study Skills. I believe in fostering a supportive learning environment tailored to each student's unique needs, which encourages resilience and personal growth. I continually seek out new counseling techniques and trends in mental health to enhance my tutoring practice. Outside of my tutoring sessions, I enjoy acquiring new practical skills that contribute to the academic success of my students, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future endeavors.

In my personal time I enjoy spending time with my 3 dogs and my 2 boys who are now pretty much grown! One is in his 3rd year at NC State University, and the other is in Graduate School at the University at Albany. I also enjoy any kind of craft that I can come up with. I love to paint, build and decorate tiny furniture for my giant dollhouse, re-purpose things around the house. I also love flowers and plants!
