Hello! I am a current M3 at the University of Virginia. As your near-peer, I can help you reach your academic and career goals. I graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biochemistry from Juniata College. I have 6 years of tutoring experience. I took the MCAT and scored in the 94th percentile. My experiences teaching and mentoring paired with my subject knowledge makes me a great tutor for college and high school level chemistry and biochemistry. Additionally, I coach rock climbing! This may not seem relevant to science, but rock climbing is all about problem solving with the physical skills you have at a given time. I took the MCAT in August 2020 and scored a 517 (94th percentile) by self studying. My content review was minimal and I achieved a large increase in my score by focusing on gaps in my understanding. I went from a 509 first practice test to a 128/131/129/129. My CARS score is in the 99th percentile: the trick to this section is test taking skills. Now with 4 years of CARS tutoring experience, I will help you improve your test taking skills and create a more focused MCAT study strategy to achieve your goal score.
