As a passionate advocate for literacy, I strive to empower students through writing, reading, and public speaking. With a Bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Guelph and over 2 years of tutoring experience, I focus on simplifying complex concepts to enhance understanding. In my early school years, I was diagnosed with a learning difference. It affected me deeply; I saw it as a problem I needed to fix. Now, over twenty years later, I'm gentler with myself; it's okay to be this way. Toward students who struggle with learning differences of their own, I take a patient and empathetic approach. I believe that nurturing a student's voice is key to their academic success.
