Education has been a guiding force throughout my life, instilled in me from a young age by my parents, who homeschooled all four of their children. Their dedication inspired my own passion for teaching and supporting students. I hold a Bachelor's in Theater Arts from Portland State University and a Master's from UNLV, where I also served as an Assistant Professor. I spent over six years teaching in the Clark County School District in Las Vegasone of the most underserved districtswhere I founded a tutoring program and provided online instruction during COVID.
I tutor reading, writing, and English (K5) and theater arts (grades 6 through college). Reading is my favorite subject to teach, as I believe an early love of reading lays the foundation for lifelong success. My teaching philosophy centers on educating the whole studentensuring they are emotionally, physically, & mentally ready to learn before instruction begins. I view each student as a vessel: when cracks appear, they must be repaired if they are expected to retain content. My work is driven by purpose, care, and a love of learning.
