Ethan: Bridgeport tutor
Certified Tutor
I recently graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry at the Honors College at The Ohio State University, with minors in Business, Computer Information Systems, and Classics.
I have several years of tutoring experience, beginning with the National Honor Society in high school and continuing as a Calculus Tutor at Ohio State's Math and Statistics Learning Center in 2021. I have delivered over 300 hours of one-on-one tutoring, helping students succeed in chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, and standardized test preparation (including ACT and AP courses).
In addition to tutoring, I work as a Teaching Assistant for CSE 3241: Introduction to Database Systems, where I have created instructional videos, organized course modules, and supported hundreds of students in mastering relational algebra, SQL, and database design. This experience has sharpened my ability to explain challenging concepts in a clear, structured, and engaging way.
My teaching philosophy is simple: a dedicated teacher makes all the difference. I focus on problem-based learning, guiding students through productive struggle and active recall to ensure lasting understanding. Every lesson is personalized to the student's needs, helping them build confidence as well as mastery.
I am deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring and plan to pursue a career as a high school science teacher.
