Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Northwestern University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Teaching with a focus on Literature and Writing. I am a certified educator in the state of Illinois, with endorsements in middle school English Language Arts and Social Studies and high school English and History. I have classroom experience teaching grades 6-12, and have been teaching for 1.5 years. I have experience working with students with IEPs, students who need extra enrichment, and twice-exceptional students. I am passionate about helping students learn and grow I went into education to pass my sheer love of reading and writing along to students and to show them there is joy to be found in those too-often tedious subjects. I believe that education is the root of everything, and the ability to access a quality education that meets students' individual needs is key to success in the world. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading science fiction novels, playing collaborative games with friends (think Dungeons and Dragons-type of game), and traveling around my city to visit new places within it.
