I am passionate about teaching and currently serve as a middle school math teacher for 7th and 8th grades, with experience in elementary school English as well. My educational journey began with a Bachelor's in Sociology and a second Bachelor's in Social Work, followed by a Master's in Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin, where I am now pursuing a second Master's in Higher Education. My teaching philosophy centers on understanding how students learn best, allowing me to tailor lesson plans that meet their individual needs. I believe in fostering a supportive environment where patience and effective communication are key to student success. Having homeschooled my eight children for 12 years, I have developed a deep appreciation for personalized education. I strive to inspire my students by showing them that math is not just a subject but a fascinating puzzle to solve, helping them build strong foundational skills along the way.
