Rachel: Toronto tutor
Certified Tutor
As a dedicated occupational therapist with a Master's degree from Texas Woman's University, I have over 15 years of instructing, coaching and teaching experience in clinical competency skills, including a background as a college professor in anatomy and physiology. My passion for helping students prepare for the NBCOT OTR exam drives my approach to tutoring, where I focus on creating a calm, supportive environment that enhances learning and retention. I employ multi-sensory strategies to engage students, tailoring my lessons to their individual needs and learning styles. By integrating practical simulations and clinical reasoning exercises, I empower students to navigate the complexities of the exam confidently. My experience across multiple clinical settings and work with a variety of patient populations has also equipped me with the skills to tailor curriculum for diverse learning needs, ensuring that every student feels understood and capable of achieving their goals.

Graduate Degree: Texas Woman's University - Master of Science, Occupational Therapy
Outside of tutoring, I can be found focusing on my own leisure occupations out on the lake paddleboarding, or taking a yoga class. I am passionate about disability advocacy and creating inclusive spaces, as I am also the parent of a child with Down syndrome. I continue to practice as an OT and am pursuing my Post Professional Doctorate while supervising COTAs and mentoring new grads. Occupational Therapy is more than a career. It is my lifestyle!
