Brian: Escondido tutor
Certified Tutor
As a passionate tutor, I aim to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications, particularly in mathematics, statistics, physics, and computer science. I hold a Master's degree in Statistics with a focus on Data Analytics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, complemented by a Bachelor's in Physics and Statistics from the University of Michigan. Building on my experience as a physics help desk assistant in college, I am eager to share my knowledge in additional subjects like Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, and various programming languages. My teaching philosophy centers on using visual aids and fostering a supportive environment where students feel confident to explore problem-solving methods rather than solely focusing on correct answers. I believe that building a strong foundation in these subjects can empower students to see the relevance of mathematics in their everyday lives.
In my free time, I enjoy playing video games and board games, especially those that challenge strategic thinking. I also like solving puzzles and brainteasers, staying active through sports, and exploring new places through travel.
