As a passionate educator with a Doctorate in Environmental Science, Studies and Policy from the University of Oregon, I have 2 years of tutoring experience and more than 5 years in classroom settings. My expertise spans a range of subjects, including data analysis and visualization (R, Python, ArcGIS, QGIS), Earth Sciences (Geology and Physical Geography), and Life Sciences (Biology and Ecology). I believe in fostering a supportive learning environment to ground learning exercises in lived experience of the interconnectedness of life and earth science in a rapidly changing world. My teaching approach involves assessing individual student needs quickly and using engaging methods - graphical storytelling and/or active learning - to facilitate understanding. I am deeply motivated by a desire to help students grasp complex ideas, and I find joy in guiding them toward academic success.
