With over 20 years of experience in education, my teaching and tutoring philosophy is grounded in personalized, methodical instruction that empowers students to become confident, independent thinkers and writers. I provide tailor-made guidance to meet each learner's unique needswhether they are a 6th grader developing reading comprehension skills, a high school student tackling essay structure, or a graduate student refining a thesis or dissertation.

At the core of my approach is a deep understanding of the Science of Reading, which informs how I help students decode, comprehend, and analyze text effectively. I focus on building strong foundational skills in vocabulary, fluency, and critical thinking to ensure true comprehension, not just surface-level understanding. This foundation supports students across all subjects and grade levels.

When it comes to writing, I take a methodical, scaffolded approach that demystifies the process. From organizing thoughts and structuring paragraphs to refining tone and citation, I guide students step-by-step so that they build both skill and confidence. My experience includes supporting students in college composition, master's level research writing, and doctoral thesis development, with particular attention to clarity, voice, and academic rigor.
