Hi! My name is Nube Torres, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Nanotechnology Engineering with a minor in Biomechanics from the University of Waterloo, where I graduated with distinction. I'm passionate about teaching Spanish my mother tongue and I believe in creating a personalized, engaging learning experience for every student.

Back home in Ecuador, I scored in the top 0.1% of students nationwide on the university entrance exam, which tested language, mathematics, and abstract reasoning. This strong academic foundation has given me valuable tools to help students tackle challenging material and prepare for advanced exams, such as AP Spanish. Additionally, I'm well-prepared to help students build confidence in elementary math and algebra. I enjoy making complex concepts clear and approachable, and I love seeing my students grow more comfortable and curious with each lesson.

With experience tutoring English and working as a substitute English teacher in Ecuador, I understand the hurdles students face when learning a new language. My approach combines interactive activities and real-life conversations to build confidence and fluency step by step. I'm dedicated to fostering a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and growing at their own pace.
Beyond tutoring, I enjoy reading literature especially works by authors like Mario Benedetti which helps me stay connected to the beauty of my language and culture.
