Certified Tutor

I'm currently in my second year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Humber College, where I've been on the Dean's List for the past two years. Before nursing, I completed a diploma in Computer Technician and a certificate in Human Resource Management. These different areas have helped me develop a strong foundation in both technical and people skills.

I work as a peer tutor at Humber, where I lead one-on-one and group sessions with students in General Chemistry, Biology, Physics and other introductory science courses. I've also had the chance to support students with learning disabilities, which has taught me how important it is to be patient, flexible, and understanding in how I explain things.

Out of all the subjects I tutor, Chemistry is my favorite. I love how it helps us understand the world on a molecular level, and it's especially meaningful when I can connect those concepts to real-life healthcare scenarios that students can relate to.

My tutoring style is friendly, supportive, and student-focused. I try to make learning feel less intimidating by breaking things down step by step, using real-life examples, and creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all teaching because every student is different, and I enjoy figuring out what works best for each person.

Outside of tutoring, I volunteer regularly at hospitals, enjoy journaling, and love exploring different languages and cultures. I find that these interests often help me connect with students beyond academics and create a comfortable, encouraging learning environment.

Above all, I care about helping students feel more confident in themselves not just in the subject, but in their ability to learn and grow.
