Certified Tutor
I'm passionate about helping students gain confidence in subjects that may seem confusing or frustrating at firstespecially math and science. With a degree in Statistics and years of experience in leadership, teaching, and mentoring, I've determined that the key to learning is understanding the why, not just the how. That's why I approach tutoring from the learner's perspective, helping students see the material in a way that makes sense to them.
I've worked with a wide range of learnersfrom leading teams and teaching in professional settings to guiding students in church and community programs. I strive to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. I believe learning should be engaging and tailored to each student's unique needs and strengths.
My favorite subjects to tutor are math and science because they help develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that carry over into every area of life. I especially enjoy showing students that these subjects can be not just manageable, but even enjoyable.
I also have experience as a pastor and U.S. Army veteran, which helps me bring patience, discipline, and empathy to every tutoring session.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family, working on home improvement projects, video games, reading, and volunteering in the community.
