Certified Tutor

I am a proud graduate of Chicago State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Healthcare Management. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in training and development, along with a certification in Paralegal Studies. My academic and professional journey has shaped a strong passion for supporting learners of all backgrounds and skill levels.

My passion for helping students comes from personal experience. As a child, I often struggled silently with certain subjects because I didn't always feel comfortable asking for help. That experience inspired me to be a resource for others. I began volunteering at my son's elementary school, helping 1st and 2nd graders build reading confidence, and later supported high school students with college admission and scholarship essays. In my professional career, I have led training and development programs for adult learners and new hires, understanding first-hand how empowering education can be at any stage in life.

I currently tutor English, essay and paper writing for college students, and provide adults with practical, foundational training in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. My favorite subject to tutor is essay writing, because I enjoy helping students refine their ideas, strengthen their research skills, and find confidence in their voice. Writing is a powerful tool for self-expression, and I love guiding students through the process of becoming stronger, more independent communicators.

My teaching philosophy is centered on empowerment. I am here to guide, not dictate. Every student learns differently, and I strive to meet them where they are by encouraging growth through patience, structure, and real-world connections. Whether it's improving literacy or mastering a presentation tool, my sessions are collaborative and goal oriented.
