I graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a BA in Linguistics and minors in English, German, and History. I am currently working on my MA in Germanic Linguistics at the University at Buffalo, after which I will seek out a Ph.D. in Anglo-Saxon Culture and Literature. I am very interested in linguistic research using Old English primary sources, with a current focus on kennings, metonymy, and metaphor in Old English. I plan to teach at the university level, bringing an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the English language through historical texts and culture. I am a strong advocate for the theory of Linguistic Relativism, which posits a link between culture and language expression. I employ this approach to explore Anglo-Saxon culture and ideologies through language and literature.
I enjoy reading about language and history. I love historical texts such as The Seafarer and The Wanderer. Regarding more recent fiction, I am fond of science fiction and fantasy in the form of movies, TV shows, books, and video games. I particularly enjoy the works of Philip K. Dick and Isaac Asimov.
