Helping students discover their creative voice through photography is deeply fulfilling. I am passionate about guiding others to express themselves visually, because I've seen firsthand how powerful and transformative that process can be. Whether it's a beginner learning how to use a camera for the first time or an advanced student refining their portfolio, I'm driven by the moment a concept clicks or a student sees their own potential in a new light.
My experience includes working with students in both formal and informal educational settings. I began teaching students at the Dallas Museum of Art as well as teaching students in my studio, who are now successful professional photographers.Each student comes with a unique perspective, and I believe in adapting my approach to support individual learning styles and creative goals.
I earned my degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Photography from a university known for its strong visual arts program. Alongside Photography, I tutor related subjects such as visual storytelling, digital imaging, portfolio development, and basic design principles.
Photography remains my favorite subject to tutor because it combines technical skill with artistic intuition. I enjoy demystifying camera settings, lighting, and editing while also encouraging students to explore their personal vision and develop critical thinking through visual media.
My teaching philosophy centers on patience, curiosity, and encouragement. I strive to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, and learning through trial and error. My tutoring style is hands-on and student-ledI listen closely, offer clear feedback, and tailor lessons to align with both course objectives and individual creative aspirations.
Outside of academia, I'm a practicing photographer with a passion for landscapes and portraits. I also enjoy visiting galleries, hiking with a camera, and collaborating with other artists on community projects. These interests continually fuel my enthusiasm for teaching and keep my perspective fresh and connected to the real world of image-making.
