I love to teach math and learn how it relates to today's world! I graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. I have been a middle school/high school math teacher for over 10 years and a math/SAT/ACT Prep tutor for over 4 years. I have experience teaching general ed, special ed, and gifted students. I chose to work in education because I understand how difficult math can be and want to use the techniques I have learned and developed over the years to help others. Not only do I strive to ensure my clients understand what they are currently learning in class, but I make an effort to review past material, and when possible, give them a head start by introducing new material. In addition to working to help improve a client's course skills, I also provide best practices for study skills and organization.

I enjoy nature, so in my spare time I like hiking or spending time by bodies of water. I also love to travel, whether it's visiting a different state in the US or immersing in the culture of other countries such as Panama and Mexico. When I'm inside I like to read or watch documentaries about science & technology, both past and present. Over the past couple of years, I've also started learning how to code via Python. In fact, for the past two years, I have included robotics lessons in my classroom where students learn to build and program robots of their own in order to complete simple to basic tasks.
