Certified Tutor

As someone who has spent years mentoring, teaching, and tutoring students from all walks of life, I've come to deeply value the power of education to transform not only understanding but confidence, purpose, and opportunity. My passion for helping students stems from a firm belief that learning should be engaging, inclusive, and empowering. There's nothing more rewarding to me than watching a student go from uncertainty to mastery, and knowing I was able to play a small role in that growth.

I recently completed my Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University, where I specialized in Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization and conducted a senior thesis on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). I'm now an incoming Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) student in Ontario, and I bring with me a rich foundation in the sciences, communication, and community engagement.

Over the years, I've worked as a tutor, teacher, and mentor for students of all ages. Whether it was guiding peers through biology and biochemistry concepts, supporting high schoolers in math and chemistry, or preparing students for the DAT, I've always prioritized patience, personalization, and positivity in my teaching. I strive to build a connection with each student, creating a space where they feel supported, understood, and capable.

I tutor subjects including English, reading comprehension, general and high school math, biology, general chemistry, and DAT prep. My personal favorites are DAT, reading, and biology, areas I find both fascinating and fun to teach. I'm especially passionate about biology because it bridges the intricate science of life with real-world application, something that continues to inspire my academic and professional path.

My tutoring philosophy is simple: adapt to you. I believe in meeting students where they're at; adjusting my teaching style to suit their learning preferences, goals, and pace. I focus on clear communication, active engagement, and building confidence through encouragement and personalized strategies. I want every student to leave a session not only understanding the material better, but feeling more empowered overall.

At the heart of it all, I tutor because I care: about students, about learning, and about helping others succeed.

Outside of academics, I'm someone who thrives on creativity, movement, and curiosity. I've been baking for over ten years, experimenting with unique dessert recipes that blend tradition and innovation. I also practice henna art, which I've shared through volunteering at festivals and community events for over a decade. More recently, I've picked up crocheting and pottery as relaxing, hands-on hobbies that give me a break from screens and a chance to make something beautiful from scratch.

More recently, I’ve picked up crocheting and pottery as relaxing, hands-on hobbies that give me a break from screens and a chance to make something beautiful from scratch. I also love staying active, whether it’s hiking, camping, or playing sports. I’ve competed in badminton for over ten years and still enjoy a good match whenever I get the chance. I’m an avid reader of sci-fi, thrillers, and mysteries, and I’m part of a book club that keeps my TBR list constantly growing. Above all, I’m always seeking out new experiences (side quests) before diving into the next big chapter of my life: dental school.
