Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Ro Piedras Campus, with a degree in Business Administration and a double major in Finance and Marketing. After seven years in the insurance industry, I transitioned to education in 2007a decision that has brought me more fulfillment than I ever anticipated.
Since then, I have taught a range of subjects, including Algebra and Geometry, but my primary focus and greatest passion has been teaching Spanish. I also have experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults in my community. I especially enjoy helping students connect with the Spanish language by encouraging self-expression, building stories together, using gestures, and incorporating cultural elements. These methods make the language come alive and foster deeper understanding and retention.
Currently, I'm applying the same strategies I use with my students to teach myself French. I also have some experience tutoring elementary-aged students, having worked with a friend's son over the past couple of years.
Outside of education, I enjoy thrift shopping and taking road tripsboth great opportunities for learning and discovery in their own way. I look forward to helping students reach their goals with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm.
