Certified Tutor
As a dedicated tutor, I am passionate about helping students because I believe education has the power to transform lives. I've experienced firsthand how the right guidance can make a significant difference in someone's academic journey. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a student gain confidence, grasp a difficult concept, or develop a genuine interest in learning.
My experience working with students spans several years and various settingsfrom one-on-one tutoring sessions to leading group study workshops. I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and different age groups, ranging from middle school to college level. Each student is unique, and I take pride in being able to adapt my approach to best support their individual needs and learning styles.
I earned my BSc and MSc degrees from Addis Ababa University. Additionally, I earned my PhD and a postdoctoral fellowship in Architecture from Southeast University. I built a strong foundation in both subject knowledge and effective communication through teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students.
I tutor a wide range of subjects, including mathematics (algebra, geometry, and calculus), physics, biology, and chemistry. I enjoy it because it challenges students to think critically and offers numerous opportunities to connect classroom learning to the real world. Watching a student develop a passion for a subject they once struggled with is incredibly fulfilling.
My teaching philosophy centers around patience, encouragement, and active engagement. I believe that learning should be a collaborative process where students feel heard, supported, and empowered. I focus on building a strong foundational understanding and developing critical thinking skills rather than relying on memorization. My tutoring style is approachable and interactiveI use questions, real-world examples, and plenty of positive reinforcement to keep students engaged and motivated.
