Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of MissouriColumbia. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on writing-intensive and multicultural studies. I bring six years of tutoring experience in subjects ranging from literary analysis and academic writing to viola instruction and other extracurricular activities. This work has given me extensive experience with students ages 3 to 17 as well as undergraduates. While I have tutored a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Writing and Literature. In my experience, the most meaningful breakthroughs happen when students gain confidence in reading comprehension, literary analysis, and academic writing. Watching their thinking sharpen and their voice emerge on the page is always the highlight of my work. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely essential for an improved quality of life, and I strive to instill this appreciation in all my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading scholarship on early modern English life, hiking, and visiting Bruegel the Elder's masterpieces.
