Samuel: Garden Grove tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm an undergraduate at Georgetown University studying Finance and Accounting, with a strong interest in teaching high school math and English. I've spent over one hundred hours tutoring students in both one-on-one and group settings, and I've found that the most rewarding part of the process is helping someone move from frustration to confidence. Whether we're working through algebra problems or breaking down a writing prompt, I aim to create a space where students feel supported and challenged at the same time.
I'm especially drawn to math and English because they build two essential skills: logical problem-solving and clear communication. I focus on giving students practical tools they can actually usewhether that means strategies for approaching tricky word problems or ways to organize their ideas in writing. My style is straightforward and flexible: I meet students where they are, and I'm always willing to adjust how I teach based on what clicks for them.
Outside of academics, I'm involved in student-run investment groups and spend time exploring the overlap between business, strategy, and real-world decision-making. I also rowed competitively for several years and still carry that mindset into my work: preparation, focus, and consistent effort pay off. I see tutoring as a way to help students build confidence in themselves and develop skills that stick long after the session ends.
