Raphael: Buena Park tutor
Certified Tutor
I am an undergraduate Engineering student at the University of Western Ontario, I've always been fascinated by the way science and mathematics shape the world around us. My academic strengths lie in Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry as I deeply enjoy their potential to unlock a student's confidence once they begin to truly understand them. My tutoring style is centred around a step-by-step, process-oriented approach. I aim to make abstract ideas tangible by breaking them into manageable pieces and then encouraging students to apply these steps independently.
Outside the classroom, I'm an artist and illustrator. Creativity influences the way I teach it helps me present concepts visually, find alternative explanations when a student is stuck, and turn learning into a collaborative experience. I also served as a Student Council Executive Member and participated and won awards in both Model United Nations and the BC Children's Hospital Young Ambassador Program for several years. These experiences strengthened my communication skills and my ability to connect with diverse learners.
I'm deeply passionate about creative storytelling through various forms of art. I enjoy illustrating and developing original characters, often drawing inspiration from cinematic music to enhance the emotional depth of my stories. Story writing allows me to bring these worlds to life, blending visual art and narrative in unique and imaginative ways.
