Jenny Marbella: Albany County tutor
Certified Tutor
With over 20 years of experience in education, I bring a deep passion for language, science, and helping students reach their academic goals. I've taught English as a Second Language (ESL) at the college level, and Biology from elementary through high school in both English and Spanish. My background also includes curriculum design, academic writing instruction, and teacher training at the university level.
I hold master's degrees in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Educational Technology, and I am currently pursuing a master's in Information and Communication Technology with a focus on developing academic language in high school students. My experience spans a variety of educational settings, from public schools and international programs to higher education and professional development.
I tutor ESL, English (reading, writing, and conversation), and Biology. I especially enjoy working with ESL students and helping them gain the confidence to communicate effectively in academic, social, and workplace settings. My teaching style is personalized, encouraging, and built on the belief that learning should be accessible, purposeful, and empowering.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, research, learning new tech tools, and exploring how science and language intersect in everyday life. My goal as a tutor is not only to support academic success but also to foster lifelong learning and self-belief.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time in nature—it helps me recharge and find inspiration for both life and work. I love watching documentaries about wildlife and ancient civilizations, as they feed my curiosity about how the world works and how people have lived across time. In my free time, I also enjoy sewing, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and listening to or singing choir music, which connects me to a sense of calm and creativity.
