Jasmine: Lower East Side tutor
Certified Tutor
As a dedicated educator and scholar, I believe that learning thrives in spaces where curiosity, critical thinking, and lived experience intersect. I am deeply committed to creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments that honor diverse perspectives and empower students to bring their full selves into the classroom. My teaching is grounded in exploration, empathy, and academic rigor, and I aim to cultivate spaces where students feel seen, challenged, and supported.
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from San Francisco State University, an M.A. in Applied Psychology from New York University, and an M.A. in Applied Developmental Psychology from Fordham University. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Applied Developmental Psychology at Fordham University.
Whether I'm guiding students through foundational concepts or mentoring them on advanced research projects, I strive to be an accessible, thoughtful, and enthusiastic presence. I draw from both theory and practice to help students connect course content to real-world issues, encouraging them to think deeply about human development and behavior. I look forward to getting to know each student, supporting their growth, and learning alongside them.

Outside of my academic work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, friends, and partner. I love trying new restaurants, traveling, and visiting museums. I’m also passionate about mentoring youth and engaging in Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR), which aligns with my commitment to community-based, justice-driven work. In my downtime, you can find me watching my favorite shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Forever.
