I am a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French. During my time at Middlebury, I was able to spend a semester in Paris, where I attended Paris 1 Panthon-Sorbonne University. Having succeeded in courses where I was one of two anglophone students in the room, I saw firsthand how years of hard work allowed me to succeed at the university level in my second language.
Arriving back in the United States, I wanted to share my love for language learning with other students hoping to get the chance to use their skills abroad. I was selected to work as a teaching assistant at Middlebury Language Tables, a program where students of all French levels come to work on their informal conversation skills. During my time in this position over the last two years, I have loved helping students feel more comfortable expressing themselves in French and discussing their goals in learning the language.
Furthermore, a four-week intensive course on Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) helped me learn the science behind language learning, allowing me to tailor my lessons to the age, skill level, and motivations of the students I work with. Upon graduation, I want to continue to work with French students to sharpen their skills, but also to help them find joy and motivation in language learning.
Having studied French from middle school through college, I am eager to tutor French students of all levels in specific grammar and vocabulary lessons, pronunciation help, and conversation practice.

This may not come as a surprise, but in my free time I like to learn more languages! Right now, I'm studying Portuguese after taking a trip to Brazil and experiencing the beauty of the language and the culture! When I'm not studying languages, I enjoy going on runs, cooking, and spending time with my two dogs, Coco and Snoops.
