Zachary: Lower East Side tutor
Certified Tutor
As a graduate of Drexel University with a Master of Science in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum, I am passionate about helping young learners build both academic skills and confidence. Through my public school student teaching experience, I have worked closely with elementary students from Kindergarten through fourth grade, supporting them in math, English Language Arts, science, and social studies. I specialize in helping students strengthen foundational math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurement, number sense, money, time, and story problem strategies. In ELA, I am skilled in supporting all areas of reading and writing, including phonemic awareness, decoding and encoding strategies, grammar, vocabulary growth, sentence formation, and organizing ideas effectively for different writing purposes.
I believe that every student can thrive with the right encouragement and personalized support. My tutoring style is built around patience, clear explanations, hands-on learning, and consistent positive reinforcement. I take the time to understand each student's unique strengths and needs, and I adapt my teaching to help them feel successful and motivated. Whether a student needs help mastering a specific skill or building overall confidence in the classroom, I am committed to making learning an engaging and positive experience.
I believe in nurturing the whole child, and I bring creativity, empathy, and a strong dedication to every session. I look forward to working closely with students and their families to help each learner reach their goals, grow academically, and build lifelong skills they will carry proudly into the future.
