Being a student isn't easy and when I was in school, I found there were few resources that actually taught how to be a good student. Seeking tutoring support in any subject is a powerful step in learning how to learn. I know this first hand because I've been through that process myself, and I'd be honored to help guide you through it, too.
I have a background in Theatre Arts & Education, with a Bachelor's from Goucher College and graduate-level study at The New School for Drama. I'm currently pursuing a Master's in Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, focusing on the teaching of Social Studies because History is my favorite subject. It informs everything in daily life, and I believe great teaching should ignite the same kind of curiosity you get when watching "Wikipedia TV"those shows that make you pause and say, wait, I want to learn more about that.
I've supported learners in many settings. As an undergraduate, I served as a Teaching Assistant in theatre history and acting classes helping students refine essays and prep for scenes. In high school, I organized a Monologue Club for college audition prep. In graduate school, I coached actors one-on-one. Across all these experiences, I've learned that the key to teaching is meeting students where they are and teaching to what they find interesting about the subject in question.
