Hello! My name is Chris Avalos, and I'm excited to offer tutoring services to students looking to strengthen their understanding of economics. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Brigham Young University (BYU) and I'm pursuing a Master's degree in Applied Economics from the University of Maryland - College Park. Also, I'm an incoming research assistant at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in the division of International Finance.
While at BYU, I served as a teaching assistant in the economics department for over 2.5 years, where I worked closely with students to clarify key concepts, assist with coursework, and prepare for exams. Through this experience, I developed a strong ability to explain complex ideas in ways that are easy to understand.
One of my greatest strengths is a deep understanding of core economic principles, from supply and demand to market structures monetary policy. I believe that learning economics doesn't have to be dry I love teaching through stories and real-world examples to make lessons more engaging and memorable. I also bring a lot of patience to each tutoring session, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking their time to master the material.
If you're looking for a tutor who is knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about helping you succeed, I would love to work with you!
Outside of academia, I enjoy soccer, basketball, reality tv.
