Sydney: Mount Vernon tutor
Certified Tutor
Hi everyone! My name is Sydney and I am a rising first-year medical student at Boston University School of Medicine. I took the MCAT this past summer and achieved a score of 525 (132|130|132|131), placing me in the 100th percentile. I've been tutoring both in-person and over zoom for over 2 years now. I was a General Chemistry Learning Assistant at BU as well as a one-on-one tutor for student-athletes in STEM subjects.
Through these experiences, I have honed my tutoring skills. I adapt my teaching style and my explanations to each student that I tutor. I believe that since everybody learns in a different way, they deserve to be taught in a way that suits them best. I always ask students what THEY think is the way to solve the problem/the next step to take so that I can learn how they think and change my responses to enhance their learning style. As someone who was just in your shoes less than 1 year ago, I know how daunting and overwhelming the MCAT can be, so I am here to help with content, test-taking strategy, or just planning on your study schedule!
Thank you for reading about me! Please reach out if you have any questions or to schedule a session!

As a rising physician, I am interested in the medical field, but more specifically, neurology and cardiology! I also enjoy watching soccer, going on walks, and playing the piano.
