I am a graduate of Concordia University and Houghton University. I received my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on trauma and resilience in educational settings. I also received my Bachelor of Arts in Inclusive Childhood Education and Intercultural Studies, with a concentration in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and a minor in Spanish. Since graduation, I have taught first grade for four years, second grade for two years, a year teaching elementary and high school special education, and been a home tutor. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Math, and Writing. In my experience helping struggling students learn and grow, I have found the most effective learning happens when you are having fun doing it! I love engaging in learning that is fun and interactive, and I really enjoy finding a song that helps us learn each new academic skill. I am a firm proponent of education and the curiosity it helps us bring when engaging with the world around us. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and camping.
