Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a master's degree in History, with a focus on Public History and emphases in Historic Preservation, Cultural Resource Managment, and Administration of Historic Organizations. Since graduation in 2013, I have worked for nonprofits, the National Park Service, and museums. I have also taught in the college classroom as a visiting professor of history. While I tutor multiple subsets of American history, I am passionate about the American Civil War and Reconstruction, the American Revolution, Colonial America, Women's history, African American History, and World War I and II. In my experience helping students prepare for Standardized Tests or gaining a good perspective on how to critically analyze primary sources, we always seem to have the most fun prepping for the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the exams and class discussions. I am a firm proponent of history education, and I do my best to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life,
including hiking, camping, visiting historic sites and museums, traveling, and enjoying concerts and sporting events.
